How Do I Get Started?
Making a decision on whether or not you are ready to begin counseling is difficult. Part of you is ready to take that step because you began searching for information on counseling. Another part of you may be hesitating to begin the process. There are many reasons why people decide not to start counseling. Sometimes it's because he/she doesn't feel that he/she can trust another person. Other times there is a fear of judgement. More often, than not, people feel that it will be too difficult to talk about the issues and go through the emotional process that is involved. But, I'll ask you to think for a moment about how difficult it is now, and how emotionally exhausted you may feel. Talking about it helps you move through the process and work toward positive change. In the end there's a sense of relief, closure, increased insight and awareness, and most importantly progress. After you make the decision to start, all you have to do is schedule an appointment.
